Ah, music! Who doesn’t enjoy a good melody? Whether your style of music is rock, country, jazz… or even yodeling… Bose always encourages you to enjoy your music to the highest capabilities. As one of the leading names in sound, it makes complete sense that they would also make headphones.
SO… Let’s look at two types of Bose headphones: The SoundTrue and the SoundSport!
When we researched these two types of Bose headphones we evaluated them based on the following four categories: Convince and durability, Inline microphone and remote, Connectivity and the number of models for that type of headphone.
Convenience and Durability
Let’s face it, people are tough on their headphones. People today need headphones that can keep up with them, offer style, and can take a beating every time we accidentally drop our music devices. (Or for the parental people, every time one of your children finds your phone and it’s still attached to the headphones!)
The Bose SoundTrue has made a number of accommodating changes to their headphones to offer the highest durability and convince possible.
The headphone cord attaches to only one of the ear pieces which means… no tangled cords!! Hello easy movement! The cord also detaches from the ear pieces for easy storage.
In addition, the ear pieces fold and easily fit into a nifty case to protect them when they are not in use.
The Bose SoundSport has also enhanced their durability for these in-ear headphones. The ear pads are covered with a special, hydrophobic cloth that helps to prevent sweat and moisture from ruining the headphones.
Thanks to a new addition, StayHear tips, these in-ear headphones are secured to your ear no matter what you are doing. Trying to complete a bizarre head-stand yoga position – it’s up to the challenge!
Also, similarly to the SoundTrue, the headphones have a nifty storage case for them when they’re not in use. This is case also features a heavy-duty clip so it won’t get lost in your purse, gym bag, car, or wherever you typically store headphones.
Inline Microphone and Remote
There is no winner or loser here. Both the Bose SoundTrue and the Bose SoundSport feature an inline microphone and remote on the cords. This allows for easy changes to music and volume. It also allows you to accept incoming calls without pulling out your device. (User beware: it won’t tell you when your boss or least favorite person is calling – no caller ID on the teeny tiny remote!)
Connectivity
The Bose SoundTrue has great connectivity depending on what you are doing and what you are connecting to. It is capable of the following features: audio listening, track forward, track backward, volume control, microphone audio, and answer/end & play/pause. It has connectivity capabilities for the following phones:
- iPhone 3GS or later
- Samsung Galaxy 4 & 5
- Samsung Note II
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
- Samsung Galaxy S3
- Samsung Fame &Fame G3
- Samsung Galaxy Trend 3
- Nokia Lumina 520
- HTC One
- Huawei Ascend P6
- MIUI Xiaomi 25
The Bose SoundSport, for connectivity, comes in two versions that are customized specifically for Apple products or Samsung Galaxy products. Both versions have a 3-button remote that will let you control your music and accept incoming calls without touching your device. Which means – no more looking at your device while running and risking the accidental trip (or running into inanimate objects like poles that you swore weren’t there a minute ago!).
Number of Models in the Category
The Bose SoundTrue has a few different models available for people to purchase. These include: in-ear headphones, on-ear headphones and around-ear headphones.
The Bose SoundSport does not have any additional model types available. They only have an in-ear model at this moment.
Recommended Product
Since there is opportunity to purchase different types (including an in-ear model for the people who run) the overall recommendation is the Bose SoundTrue. It’s got impeccable sound control, connects to more devices, and has more actions to do with the inline microphone and remote.
