Performance
The number of sewing stitches is clearly the most noteworthy part of this product in terms of how effective it can be when it comes to stitching items. The LS30 does a better job with this as it can work with more patterns and thickness levels when getting items stitched up properly. The ability of the LS30 to go from a free-arm system to a flatbed option makes it easy for you to go from stitching smaller materials to working with larger bodies.
However, the LS2129 does more for thicker materials than the LS30. The LS30 does not do well with sewing thick quilts like the LS2129 can. It also does a great job with setting up buttons with its four-step buttonholer. The buttonholer is designed to quickly mix the buttons in with a series of thin materials to keep the stitching process under control for as long as possible. In addition, the LS2129 can handle the more complicated zigzag stitches with less time needed to make it work right. It makes for a unique solution for taking care of stitches with ease.
Neither of these machines can work with thread wipers. Therefore, they may not work well for embroidery projects.
Quality
The quality of these two products is heavily linked to how well they can both utilize different kinds of controls. First, these are both designed to work well with many automatic features including automatic stitch length settings and preset foot pressure adjustments. The controls on these two machines are clearly designed to make it easier for you to keep your stitching functions working as well as possible. The foot control systems for both of these machines will help you out quite well.
Still, both models have their own differences in terms of what you can utilize. The LS2129 does an amazing job with getting the stitches on this machine under control and is able to handle individual stitches carefully.
The LS30 may be better for those who want to get more stitches at a given time. The ability to switch from a single to a twin needle design is easy to handle when the free-arm setting is used. This makes everything a little more functional and easy to manage.
The sewing feet are also useful for these two models but the ways how they work are very different. The LS30 does an amazing job with handling zippers and buttons with its sewing feet as they control the sewing machine at their own controlled speeds. The basic foot control on the LS2129 doesn’t have much of a differential between these options but it still works well.
Overall Opinion
In the long run, both of these models have good features and strong warranties but the LS2129 does a better job with handling more stitches and a little more control for handling more items. However, it takes a little longer for you to stitch items like this when compared to the LS30.
The LS30 is easy to convert and switch for small and large sewing needs alike. It doesn’t do as much with detail as the LS2129 for all its projects though. In summary, both of these Brother sewing machines can work wonders for your sewing needs but you will have to check on your specific requirements when finding a model. If you need an attention to detail then the LS2129 machine will work. The LS30 will be better when working on large-scale projects that can be done on larger surfaces.
