The Diono Radian RXT vs. The Britax Pinnacle 90
The Diono Radian RXT and Britax Pinnacle 90 are two child safety seat models that are designed as booster seats for larger children. These two models are made to keep a child safe but they also have a few differences.
Installation
The Radian RXT uses a SuperLATCH system to connect the child. It links up the seat to every individual connection that it can use to keep a child secure. The Pinnacle 90 has premium lower LATCH connectors to secure the bottom of the seat. These particularly fit into a typical seat belt buckle.
Comfort
The Radian RXT has a headrest that can be adjusted in twelve different positions. There are also five shoulder and three buckle positions in the seat. The Quick Adjust headrest in the Pinnacle 90 uses four settings for keeping the headrest running. There are also two buckle positions as well as armrests. These settings are used on these seats to keep a child from not wanting to be in a seat.
Crash Rating
The Radian RXT has EPS foam to take in energy in the event of a wreck. The Safestop harness also takes in kinetic energy as the car moves, thus protecting the child’s body from pressure in the event of a wreck. The harness also keeps the child secure on the body of the seat so it will not be likely to shift around and bump when there is a wreck.
The Pinnacle 90 uses HUGS, or Harness Ultra Guard System, chest pads to protect the child with a bit of additional protection during a wreck. The Versa-Tether anchors at the top and the steel bars inside the body of the vehicle also control the effects of a wreck to keep the seat sturdy and less likely to shift.
Overall
The Diono Radian RXT does well with a series of simple adjustments and controls to make a child more comfortable and a little easier to protect. Meanwhile, the Britax Pinnacle 90 uses a few addition crash safety materials as well as a sturdy installation procedure to keep the seat from shifting or moving too much. Both of these seats are worth comparing before you choose to buy one for your child.
