You’ve seen lots of recipes on the internet for the “perfect breakfast drink” or the “delicious weight-loss smoothie” and are ready to jump in and try to make the recipes yourself. The only thing is…. You don’t own a blender. What now?
Let us help you narrow it down by talking about three major manufacturers of blenders: Oster, Vitamix and Ninja.
We took a look at four categories and have compiled the information here in an easy-to-read article. The four categories are: Type and Number of Models Made, Target Audience, Price Range, and Enjoyable Manufacture Bonuses!
Type and Number of Models Made
The term blender, originally meant to be used for one piece of kitchen equipment, now covers multiple types of kitchen equipment.
Three of the name brand producers of blenders, Oster, Vitamix and Ninja have displayed that for us.
Oster – Oster has quite the assortment of models, 33 to be exact! These models are broken down into a variety of different “blenders”, such as:
- Juicers
- Smoothie blenders
- Kitchen blenders
- Blender food processors
- Personal blenders
- Immersion blenders, and
- Professional blenders
Vitamix – Vitamix is primarily broken down into two major categories (Home and Business). Between the two there are 17 models. They are distributed into the following categories
- Home
- Personal blenders
- Classic blenders
- Quality models
- Business
- Beverage blenders
- Food preparation blenders
- Frozen treat mixers
- Dispense and blend blenders
Ninja – Nina has the least amount of models, with only 14 to choose from. They are broken down into the following:
- Food processors
- Personal blenders
- Professional blenders
- Ultimate blenders
- Nutrient extractors and blenders
Target Audience
Each company has a slightly different target audience they are marketing for.
Oster is primarily marketing toward the average consumer that uses blenders in the house for personal use. They have a high number of kitchen blender models (13) and have multiple options for personal blenders, i.e. blenders that are directly attached to a water bottle.
Vitamix is geared towards offering blenders for both home use and professional use. However, they have more options for businesses than the typical consumer use.
Ninja is aimed for the consumer looking for a more heavy-duty blender with more power. Typically consumers of Ninja blenders are looking to blend harder foods, such as carrots, ice, and celery.
Price Range
The most affordable of the three brands, Oster, Vitamix and Ninja, is Oster. Their prices cover a broad range, around $20 and ending at approximately $300. They are a great price for the everyday consumer.
Vitamix and Ninja have comparable prices starting at approximately $200 and higher. These products are aimed at people who are looking to put the money into a machine that is meant to last for years.
Enjoyable Manufacture Bonuses!
The beautiful part about manufactures that create similar products is that they are willing to throw in fun features to be more competitive than their counterparts.
Oster
Oster offers a great limited 7-year warranty on many of their products. Most of their products also come with some sort of a mini recipe book and a helpful tips manual. These get the user off to a great start with their blender.
As a new feature, many of their products are made with BPA-Free plastic.
As a final feature to list, you can register your Oster products online, as well as view other types of order and product support directly from the company.
Vitamix
Vitamix takes pride on a few things with their blenders. The first one they list is that their blenders are 100% chunk free, meaning that you won’t have to continually reblend drinks.
The next ones are that it is easy to clean and can pour shakes easily.
Each Vitamix comes equipped with a no-restriction, 3-year warranty.
Similar to the Oster, you can also register Vitamix products online through their website.
Ninja
If it’s free recipes you’re looking for, then you found them. Ninja’s website has an entire section of free recipes to choose from, and more added each day.
Just like the previous two brands, Oster and Vitamix, you can also register your Ninja products online.
There are two warranty options that are available with Ninja products. The first one is a 5-year “VIP” service guarantee. This warranty is only available if you purchase your Ninja product directly from Euro-pro Operating LLC.
The second warranty, lifetime warranty, is also only eligible on products ordered direct with Ninja (Euro-Pro Operating LLC).
Their products are, similarly to Oster, BPA free and, as an added bonus, dishwasher safe.
Overall Product Recommendation – Home Use
After looking at these three, and the four categories defined in the beginning of the article, I think that Oster blenders are the ones that I would recommend overall. They are decently priced, have a great selection of various blending-type kitchen appliances, and they all come with a 7-year warranty.
With those features, and a being able to purchase a blender for my home WITHOUT breaking the bank, I think Oster is the recommended product.
Overall Product Recommendation – Business Use
Even though Ninja blenders could be used in a business, they don’t really stand a chance against the Vitamix blenders designed specifically for businesses. Vitamix has 10 different blending devices specifically for businesses.
This means they can meet a lot of the business’s needs under one manufacture. Businesses can discuss their needs directly with a Vitamix sales representative for the most efficient and affordable option for them.
In addition to having a variety of machines, Vitamix has a 7-year, no-restrictions warranty. In the business world that can be your saving grace!
Final Note
On a final note, while all of these manufactures have great products, keep in mind what you are trying to blend. If you are looking to blend tough foods, like carrots and apples, then a low-power personal blender might not be the best bet. Look for a blender that meets your price requirements and the one that best fulfills your needs!
