The Syma S026 and the Syma S026G are two miniature chinook remote control helicopters that are designed to be used indoors. They are both a similar style and have a lot of the same features so how do you know which one to choose?
We have looked at the features of both the Syma S026 and the Syma S026G to see which one we think is the better remote control helicopter.
Flight
Both the Syma S026 and the Syma S026G will fly upwards, downwards, forwards and backwards and will turn either left or right but neither of the models will be able to fly sideways. The Syma S026G benefits from having a built in gyroscope which gives you better control over the direction and flight of your helicopter.
The Syma S026 and the Syma S026G both operate using infrared signals, meaning they can only be flown inside and will not operate correctly outside due to the interference to the signal.
Style
The Syma S026 and the Syma S026G are both similar in appearance and are both military green chinook style helicopters. The two models are a similar size with the Syma S026 measuring 19 inches by 7.2 inches by 3.6 inches compared to the Syma S026G that measures 18.9 inches by 7.4 inches by 3.5 inches.
The Syma S026G is a lighter weight model than the Syma S026, weighing 1 lb compared to the Syma S026 which weighs 2 lbs. Both models feature dual rotor blades on the front and the back of the helicopters.
Battery
Both the Syma S026 and the Syma S026G have rechargeable lithium polymer batteries. The Syma S026 will take around half an hour to fully charge the battery which will the give you around 6 to 8 minutes of continuous flying time.
The Syma S026G will take around 20 minutes for the battery to be fully charged and you will get around 6 to 7 minutes of flying time.
Ease of Use
Both the Syma S026 and the Syma S026G are suitable for beginners and are designed to be inside. The Syma S026 has 3 channels and the Syma S026G has 3.5 channels, meaning you can fly more than one helicopter in your house at the same time without them causing interference.
The added gyroscope on the Syma S026G will make it easier for beginners to use as it stabilizes the helicopter during flight, without having to manually adjust the controls as much as with the Syma S026. Both models are very durable and will withstand the usual crashes in your house.
Recommendation
After looking at all the features on both the Syma S026 and the Syma S026G we think the better model is the Syma S026G. It has better stability thanks to the built in gyroscope and it is easier to fly than the Syma S026.
Both models are good value remote control helicopters but the Syma S026G is a less expensive option and has more features, giving it a clear edge over the Syma S026.
