The Turtle Beach 60P and the Turtle Beach PX24 are both stereo headphones designed to be used for gaming. Both models have similar features and are aimed at the same market, so what’s the difference?
We have looked at the main features of both the Turtle Beach 60P and the Turtle Beach PX24 to see which headphones we think are the better ones.
Comfort
The Turtle Beach PX24 features an ergonomically designed padded headband with breathable mesh fabric. The Turtle Beach PX24 also has mesh covered padded ear cushions that sit around your ears for less pressure on your head during longer gaming sessions.
The Turtle Beach 60P features a padded leatherette headband and soft leatherette padded ear cushions that also sit comfortably around your ears. The headbands on both models can be adjusted to fit most head sizes.
Audio
Both the Turtle Beach 60P and the Turtle Beach PX24 have amplified sound to give you a more realistic gaming experience. The Turtle Beach PX24 has added Virtual Surround Sound that replicates a surround sound experience through the stereo headphones, meaning you get a more immersive experience.
The Turtle Beach PX24 has added Superhuman Hearing technology that allows you to hear more sounds in the distance, giving you an advantage over your opponents. The Turtle Beach PX24 also has larger drivers at 50 millimeters, compared to the Turtle Beach 60P which has 40 millimeter drivers, giving you richer sound.
Features
Both models have a similar style of microphone with the Turtle Beach PX24 having the added advantage of a flip-up microphone, ideal for when it’s not needed. The Turtle Beach 60P has swiveling ear cups so you can store the headphones flat or rest them more comfortably on your shoulders when you’re not listening.
Both sets of headphones have microphone monitoring so you’ll know how loud you’re speaking to your fellow gamers. Both models have in-line volume controls, with the Turtle Beach PX24 having the addition of amplifier controls, giving you more flexibility over your audio.
Compatibility
The Turtle Beach 60P is designed to be used with the PS4 and will work well with other PlayStation consoles. The amplified stereo sound on the 60P will only work with the PS4 and PS3 but the headphones will still work with other devices.
The Turtle Beach PX24 is designed to work with a range of games consoles, including the PS4 and Xbox One, and will work well with PCs, Macs and mobile devices. Both models have a 3.5 millimeter jack connection so can be connected to any audio device and the 60P also has a USB connection for PS4.
Recommendation
After analyzing the features of both the Turtle Beach 60P and the Turtle Beach PX24 we think the better headphones are the Turtle Beach PX24. The sound from the PX24 is superior due to the larger drivers.
The Turtle Beach PX24 has the benefit of being a more versatile set of headphones, meaning you can use all the features with a wider range of consoles, compared to the 60P which has PlayStation specific features.
