Dyson AM02 vs. Dyson AM01

Traditional fans have blades chopping air, which creates unpleasant buffeting. But Dyson’s AM02 tower fan and AM01 table fan do not have any blades. Instead of blades, these models use Air Multiplier Technology, which allows them to multiply the air by up to fourteen times.

Without any blades spinning, these models are safe for children. As these fans will cool you, it is even possible to shut down the air conditioner and save valuable energy. The AM02 is available in Silver and Blue, while the AM01 is available in White and Blue.

How These Fans Work

By using an energy-saving brushless motor, AM02 and AM01 respectively draw up to 9.51 and 5.28 gallons of air per second. Technologies employed in jet engines and turbochargers are combined in these models, which ensure consistent and powerful flow. The airflow in enhanced by annular aperture. The airflow delivered by these fans could be controlled by turning the dial. You can adjust the level of air according to your comfort level. As these models do not have any blades, they are very easy to clean and maintain properly.

Special Features

The AM02 model is capable of oscillating 90 degrees. This model also comes with a remote control, which could be used to control the oscillation and airflow. The remote could be magnetically stored on top of the device when it is not used.

With AM01, you have to manually adjust the position. As the motor is placed on the base, it could be tilted to any position. The motors of both of these models are cleverly positioned at the bottom, providing them with a center of gravity. Unlike conventional fans, these models are not unstable or top heavy.

If you intend to use the fan for personal purposes, the AM01 will do the job for you. However, if you want to cover a room or want more power, you should go for the AM02. The slightly higher price is compensated by premium features and the remote controlled interface.
