Evenflo has some fantastic car seats out there, but not many people are familiar with their high-backed, harnessed booster seats.
Two of these models worth the while to look into are the Evenflo Maestro and the Chase LX.
We looked at four categories to determine which, of the two, we would give an overall recommendation for. The four categories are: weight restrictions and product dimensions, safety features, average consumer rating and additional desirable features.
Weight Restrictions and Product Dimensions
The weight restrictions for the Evenflo Maestro vary depending on whether or not you are using the high-back. If using the high-back, the weight restrictions start at 22 lbs. and go to 50 lbs. If using no back, the weight restrictions start at 40 lbs. and go to 110 lbs.
The overall product dimension for the Evenflo Maestro are 19” W x 20.5” D x 27” H. Total weight is 11 lbs.
The Chase LX also has the option to be used with or without the high-back. The weight restrictions are the same as the Evenflo Maestro.
The product dimensions, however, are slightly different. The dimensions are 18.5” W x 19” D x 28”. The weight is 11 lbs.
Safety Features
Evenflo takes their safety seriously. Both the Evenflo Maestro and the Chase LX are aircraft certified and temperature tested. They both are equipped with the LATCH system, have energy absorbing foam and have a five-point harness.
Average Consumer Rating
The Evenflo Maestro receives an average consumer rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars. People’s review say that they are happy with the simplistic style without the fancy bells and whistles.
The Chase LX also receives an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars. Consumers say that this is a great “bang for your buck” purchase, but there are some negative comments. These negative comments come from people whose vehicle seats aren’t completely straight. Consumers say that the booster seat doesn’t fit right when the seats are slightly reclined.

While these two models are incredibly similar, the size difference and the consume reports are what separated the two. Given the fact that the Chase LX is larger, and has negative comments about fitting in vehicles with slanted seats, the overall product recommendation goes to the Evenflo Maestro, by default.
