The quote goes “a dog is a man’s best friend”. If you have a hunting dog, or go on frequent hikes with your dog, it is important to keep track of your dogs. If you have ever thought of attaching a flashing light or a beacon to your dog then your problems are solved.
Garmin TT 10 and Garmin TT15 are GPS trackers for dogs! They will let you know, through light beacons and tones where your “best friend” has run off to.
These two products are almost identical, with minor differences in the following: partner devices for signals, tracking and training options, and the type of receiver.
Partner Devices for Signals
The light beacons and tones for the Garmin TT 10 are activated from the Alpha 100 Garmin product. Unfortunately, the Alpha 100 is the only product that is compatible with the TT 10 device.
In addition, the TT 15 is compatible not only with the Alpha 100 (like the TT 10) but also with the Astro 320. (The downside is the training feature cannot be used with the Astro 320 product.
Tracking vs. Training
Both the Garmin TT 10 and the Garmin TT 15 have the capability of tracking your dog via GPS. The TT 10 does not have a very well defined training stimulation, so it is more or less only used as a tracking device.
The Garmin TT 15, however, lets you train your dogs through a traditional strategy. There are quick changes to the stimulation between low and high, and then has a predetermined level of stimulation. If you’re not the type of dog owner that likes to use traditional means to train the dog, there is also a linear stimulation in the TT 15 that lets you progressively move through the levels ranged from 1 to 18.
Type of Receiver
The Garmin TT 10 is only compatible with one type of receiver, the Alpha 100. The Alpha 100 sends LED beacons and audible tones to the GPS tracker device on the collar.
The Garmin TT 15 is compatible with two devices: the Alpha 100 (like the TT 10) and the Astro 320. Even though it’s compatible with two options, the training features are not compatible with the Astro 320. So, if you are wanting to use the training features then the Alpha 100 is the device the collar needs to be synced up to.

These two products, the Garmin TT 10 and the Garmin TT 15, are so similar that it is difficult to offer a recommendation for one over the other. The only thing that makes the Garmin TT 15 more appealing over the Garmin TT 10 is the two types of training programs that the device uses. The Garmin TT 10 does not discuss training options, so it is assumed that they are not available or the main focus of the TT 10 product purpose.
