When looking for a home wireless router it can be difficult to know what to look for and which brands to start with. We suggest looking at these categories to help you in your search: speed, security, hardware and additional useful features.
For a starting point, we’ve gathered information on two models to help you out. We looked at these two:
Netgear Nighthawk x6 ac3200 and Linksys wrt1900ac.
Speed
The Netgear Nighthawk x6 ac3200 is a 802.11 ac tri-band Gigabit wireless router. It has a WiFi speed of 3.2 Gpbs and a wireless performance of 600 + 1300 + 1300 Mbps.

The ReadySHARE features allow you to plug in directly to the router and share pictures, videos and memories with everyone. This particular model is also iTunes compatible, which means it supports playing music through Apple and Mac devices, as well as PC based devices.
The one nice thing about the Linksys wrt1900ac that the Netgear Nighthawk x6 ac3200 doesn’t have is the eSATA port. This super port would be nice to have on the Netgear Nighthawk x6 ac3200, but the port alone is not enough to make this model the overall recommended product.
