The Foscam FBM3501 and the Motorola MBP36 both operate using a 2.4 GHz wireless signal that transmits the images and sounds from the camera to the monitor.
Features
Both models feature a temperature display on the monitor so you know your baby is comfortable. The Foscam FBM3501 also features a clock display on the monitor as well as a feeding timer.
The Motorola MBP36 benefits from having five lullabies built into the camera unit so you can soothe your baby to sleep. It also features colored LED lights on the monitor that alert you to sounds in your baby’s room even when the volume is muted
Ease of Use
Both the Foscam FBM3501 and the Motorola MBP36 are easy to set up and don’t require any other software, so you can just plug it in and you’re good to go. Both monitors use lithium ion batteries, with both batteries lasting around 4 hours.
The Foscam FBM3501 has a range of 300 meters, compared to the Motorola MBP36 that has a range of 200 meters. The Motorola MBP36 benefits from having an out of range alert system so you will always know you’re within distance to hear your child.
Recommendations
The Foscam FBM3501 and the Motorola MBP36 are both good options when it comes to choosing a video baby monitor for your home. But with the added features of the Motorola MBP36 we think this comes out on top.
The Motorola MBP36 has handy features, such as the lullabies and a good quality monitor. The added benefit of having LED lights on the monitor means you don’t need to disturb anyone else with the sound but you’ll still be alerted to any noises coming from your child’s room.
