Choosing between the Omega J8006 and the Breville JE98XL can be a difficult decision. With both having similar features and basically the same end result then how do you know which one to go for?
With our help, you can see the best of their features so you can more easily decide whether to choose the Omega J8006 or the Breville JE98XL as your new kitchen gadget.
Speed
The main difference between the two models is that the Omega J8006 is a masticating juicer whereas the Breville JE98XL is a centrifugal juicer. This means the speed on the Omega is a lot slower than the Breville.
The Omega processes fruit at 80 rpm compared to the Breville, which is dual speed and processes at either 6,500 rpm or 12,000 rpm. The slower speed of the Omega is said to maintain more of the health benefits of the fruit and also prevents oxidation, meaning the juice can be stored for longer.
Additional Features
While the Omega and Breville both make juice, they have different features that may come in handy depending on what you will be using the juicer for. The Breville has a 3 inch feed tube so you can add whole pieces of fruit, which you can’t do with the Omega.
The Omega juicer comes with attachments so you can grind coffee beans, make spaghetti, nut butter and baby food, and mince garlic. Because of its low speed you can also get more juice from leafy vegetables than you can with the Breville.
Size
You want to make sure your juicer doesn’t take up too much space in your kitchen, whether it’s stored or sitting on the counter everyday. The two models are similar in height and depth but the width of the Omega is less than half that of the Breville.
The Breville measures 13 ⅕ by 16 ½ by 18 ⅕ inches compared to the slightly smaller Omega which measures at 14 ½ by 6 ½ by 15 ½ inches.
Ease of Use
Both the Omega and the Breville juicers are both easy to use and both create delicious juices in a short time. However, how to clean the juicer can often be a deal breaker.
The easiest juicer to clean is the Omega, due to it having less removable parts than the Breville. The Omega features a small screen to clean but the Breville’s removable parts can be put in the dishwasher.
Recommendation
After analyzing the features of both of the juicers we would say that the Omega J8006 is a better juicer overall than the Breville JE98XL. Being almost twice the price of the Breville you would expect to get a better quality juicer, especially since the Omega comes with a 15 year warranty compared to the 1 year warranty on the Breville.
The Omega is a versatile juicer that can be used for a variety of different culinary tasks. But if you’re only looking to make juice and want a good quality juicer without splurging too much cash, then the Breville will serve you well.
