Every good gamer needs a keyboard to keep up with their commands and the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 and the Logitech G110 are up to the challenge. Both are state of the art gaming keyboards that allow you to execute marathon gaming sessions without losing typing speed.
To help you decide of the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 or the Logitech G110 is right for you, we’ve compared the two gaming keyboards in the categories of design, keyboard, system requirements and what’s included. We then offer a recommendation.
Design
The Microsoft Sidewinder X4 is a full size keyboard. It is black in color with orange lettering. To change the intensity of its backlighting, tap the F12 key.
The Microsoft Sidewinder X4 also comes with a wrist rest to help protect your arms from vigorous typing.
The Logitech G110 is also a full size keyboard that is black with blue or red lettering. You can switch this backlighting on or off with the F11 key.
Keyboard
The Microsoft Sidewinder X4 has 6 macro keys while the Logitech G110 has double that, with 12 macro keys. Both keyboards allow you to program each macro key with three different commands.
If you’re looking to enhance your gaming with macro keys, the Logitech G110 is the clear winner with 36 options versus the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 which only has 18 options.
As for typing, the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 has a louder click than the Logitech G110 and the keys themselves feel more distinct than the keys of the Logitech G110.
Ports
The Microsoft Sidewinder X4 does not come with any USB ports, which seems odd. Granted it will always be hooked up to a computer that will have a USB port, but it’s nice to have extra ports, just in case.
The Logitech G110, on the other hand, has a USB port which can be found on the back of the keyboard.
The Logitech G110 also has a built-in sound card which has two 3.5 mm connectors, which are also located at the back of the keyboard.
System Requirements
The Microsoft Sidewinder X4 is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. It is also compatible with any newer versions of Windows.
For set up, the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 needs 100 MB of hard drive space, a CD-ROM and a USB connection.
The Logitech G110 is compatible with both PC and Mac. It is compatible with Windows 7 and any newer versions.
Recommendation
Both the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 and the game are good gaming keyboards that offer a variety of features to extend your gaming experience. They both look good, in their own ways, and are built to appeal to serious gamers.
The Microsoft Sidewinder X4, however, is the better of the two gaming keyboards. While it has less macro key functions than the Logitech G110 has, it has a better overall performance.
The handling of the keys is better and more comfortable and seems to be more in tune with what a gamer needs.
