Although Ricaro is a lesser-known car seat manufacturer, don’t let that fool you. They put out some wonderful convertible car seat options.
Take a look at these two: the Ricaro Proride and the Performance Ride.
These four categories helped us to determine which we would recommend overall to you: weight restrictions, safety features, average consumer rating and parent-worthy additions.
Weight Restrictions
The complete weight restrictions for the Ricaro Proride start at 5 lbs. and go up to 65 lbs. This model can be used either in a rear-facing capacity (5 – 40 lbs.) or a front-facing one (20 – 65 lbs.).
The Performance Ride features the same weight restrictions for both the rear-facing and front-facing option as the Ricaro Proride.
Safety Features
Both the Ricaro Proride and the Performance ride have five-point harnesses, latch systems, energy absorbing foam, and are side-impact tested by race-inspired testing.
The safety features that the Performance Ride has that the Ricaro Proride doesn’t includes PUR foam for head protection, cloud comfort memory foam and twist-resistant HERO technology in the straps.
Average Consumer Rating
The Ricard Proride receives an average consumer rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars. One of the positive remarks seen frequently involve the fact that you can remove everything on this model to wash the seat pads and the car seat itself. The downside to being able to do this is that it’s noted that it can be difficult to put everything back on.
The Performance Ride receives a higher average consumer rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars. Many consumers like the no-twist technology.
